The National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers' (NBC-CAM) purpose is to ensure that community association managers practice with professionalism, integrity and knowledge. To do so, we administer the Certified Manager of Community Associations® (CMCA) certification program, the only nationally accredited certification program in the field.
The CMCA program consists of four steps:
- Coursework in accounting, collections, ethics, finance, governance and the law.
- A rigorous examination.
- Adherence to a code of professional standards and ethics.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
Who are CMCAs?
The more than 10,000 CMCA-certified professionals manage every type of community: condominium associations, homeowner associations, resort communities and commercial tenant associations.
If you want to be recognized for your skills and knowledge in community association management and advance your career, CMCA—The Essential Credential™—certification is for you.
Why hire a CMCA?
An estimated 60 million Americans live in 300,000 community associations. These homeowners need professional guidance on issues such as reserves, maintenance, insurance, budgets, contracts, the law and rules enforcement.
Running a community association is like running a business. The best way for homeowners to protect their investment is by hiring a qualified, board-certified CMCA.
