Welcome to NBC-CAM

The National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM) administers the Certified Manager of Community Associations® (CMCA®) certification program. NBC-CAM is affiliated with Community Associations Institute (CAI), which provides education and resources to community association homeowners, managers, and other industry professionals.

The certification program was designed to ensure that community managers have the fundamental knowledge and expertise required to effectively manage homeowner and condominium associations and cooperatives.

The CMCA program:
  • establishes acceptable standards of knowledge and skills for the community management industry,
  • provides association homeowners with a level of confidence regarding a certified manager's knowledge,
  • and raises the professional status of community association management.

The estimated 57 million Americans who live in more than 286,000 community associations need accurate and professional guidance on issues such as reserves, maintenance, insurance, budgets, governance, contracts, the law, and rules enforcement. Receiving the best advice from qualified professionals can mean the difference between prosperity and distress.
